Co-teaching, In-class Support and SEN: Developing Whole School Professional Relationships and Learning for Class Teachers and Special Education Teachers.

This webinar will be the second of a two part suite aimed at supporting schools who are using or hope to use in-class support as part of their inclusive education practices and to scaffold the learning of students with special and additional educational needs. This webinar will have three aims to facilitate teachers in the practical implementation of in-class support:

1) Developing an understanding of the many ways in-class support can be utilised. Identifying the terminology, team teaching, co-teaching etc and distilling the practical applications of these terms in the school setting.  Looking at various ways to co-teach/team teach to suit your class, setting and needs.

2) Fostering the growth of professional relationships among teachers who will work together and in so doing aim to improve the effectiveness of in-class support and interventions. Sharing of common areas of challenge that teachers face, such as noise level or behaviour management, and practical strategies to address these issues.

3) Facilitating and Monitoring the planning, assessment and review of in-class support intervention.  Acknowledging progress and dealing with growth and change as a whole school as part of teacher professional development as well as best practices for student learning. Sharing of templates, planning tools, assessment records and other documents and processes.

The second webinar in the suite is aimed at Class Teachers and Special Education Teachers, the first is directed towards Principals, SENCOs and other School Leaders. It is recommended that where possible members from the school attend each of the webinars though this is not necessary.
