Star Writers Competition - YOUR STAY-AT-HOME DIARY!
West Cork Education Centre have teamed up with The Southern Star newspaper in organising a monthly writing competition for all primary schools in West Cork.
Children from West Cork schools were asked to write a short ‘Stay-at-home’ diary entry (200 words approx) outlining what they’ve been doing all this time and what their thoughts and feelings are about these strange days.
The closing date was 5pm on Wednesday, May 27th.
We wish to thank all the pupils who submitted lovely diary entries for Star Writers competition this term for ‘My Stay-At-Home diary’. The Southern Star will publish a selection of these entries over the next few weeks. Keep up the writing and of course the reading!

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to read our stories in detail.
It is very much appreciated.
Thank you Dympna for giving such lovely feedback to the kids and it was a very welcome change from the usual schoolwork. They really enjoyed it. It was boost for them to get commented individually – there were lots of smiles.
The West Cork education centre is a very valuable support to teachers and students during this time.
