Following the phenomenal success of the BLAST project which was launched last year we are delighted to bring you news that this Initiative which adds to our already significant provision in this area will continue into the next school year.
The aim of this scheme is to give more pupils in schools all over the country the opportunity to work with a professional artist on unique projects to be originated and planned between the artist, the teacher and the school under the coordination of the Education Centre ESCI network of 21 full-time Education Centres.
This project is open to Primary and Post Primary Schools and gives the opportunity to have an in-school residency with a fully funded and trained Artist over a 20 hour period during the next academic year.
Names of some of the trained Artists available to schools are available below. This list will be expanding as further artists are trained. When making applications please be mindful of the areas of expertise of the artists who are available and choose themes of projects accordingly.
For Application form and full guidelines of the project please see below. Closing date for Applications is the 30th of September 2022 but your school is advised to apply as soon as possible as places per Education Centre are limited. Early application will ensure that projects in the schools who are awarded residencies can commence early and be finished in a timely manner.
