Digital Citizenship Champion Programme: Call out for tutors to become Digital Citizenship Champions
The Digital Citizenship Champion Programme is a collaboration between Oide and Webwise, aimed at fostering key skills in digital citizenship. This will empower you to facilitate workshops and/or webinars through West Cork Education Support Centre
Please see below for more information and the tutor training dates. (training for Workshop one took place in May 2024 (An optional online drop-in clinic will be held to support any new tutors who would like to deliver this course)

Programme Highlights:
- Professional Development: We offer tailored Professional Learning events, including three additional days of face-to-face training in November, January and April specifically designed to enhance competence in promoting digital citizenship and internet safety.
- Online Drop-In Clinic:An online drop-in clinic session will be available for any further questions about the presentations delivered in schools or at Education Centres following our full-day workshops.
Responsibilities of Digital Citizenship Champions:
- Facilitate Workshops:Provide face-to-face workshops throughout the year at West Cork Education Support Centre to support teachers with the content covered during training events. These workshops can be conducted at your school, schools within your local area, or at West Cork Education Support Centre.
And/Or
- Facilitate Webinars:Conduct webinars or online sessions on behalf of West Cork Education Support Centre, covering the material explored during training events.
What to Expect:
- This unique professional learning opportunity is designed to empower 'Digital Champion Tutors' to promote digital citizenship and internet safety within your schools and local communities.
- Tutors will have the opportunity to facilitate workshops through their local Education Support Centres, Croke-Park hours (outside of teaching time only with a minimum of 10 teachers), supporting their peers and implementing the strategies learned during training workshops.
- Following each of the training days, a tutor package will be shared, for tutors to deliver in schools and/ or West Cork Education Support Centre. After the November training, we will share materials for delivering:
Workshop 1: Being Online: Media Information & Literacy
Workshop 2: Wellbeing Online
The training workshops will run in Limerick, Laois and Carrick-on-Shannon on the following dates:
